Who we are

Jake is operated as a sole trader. We build AI customer support software. This policy covers this marketing website and our hosted cloud service (Jake Cloud).

What we collect on this website

This site runs no third-party advertising trackers. We collect only what you actively send us: if you submit the contact form, we receive your name, email address, and message, along with basic technical metadata (IP address, timestamp) used for abuse prevention.

We use privacy-preserving, aggregate analytics to understand which pages are read. No cross-site tracking cookies are set.

How we use contact form data

To reply to you. Contact form submissions are not added to marketing lists, sold, or shared with third parties beyond the infrastructure providers needed to deliver email.

The lawful basis for this processing under GDPR Article 6 is legitimate interest (responding to an inquiry you initiated).

Cloud service data

If you use Jake Cloud, conversation data is governed by your subscription agreement and our data processing addendum (DPA). You remain the controller of your customers' data; we act as a processor under GDPR Article 28. Cloud workspaces can be hosted in the EU or US, and exports are self-service at any time.

Where data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses (SCCs) as the transfer mechanism.

Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, in line with GDPR Article 5(1)(e).

Contact form submissions are retained for up to 12 months, then deleted. Cloud workspace data is deleted within 30 days of account closure, and backups age out within a further 30 days. You can request earlier deletion at any time.

Your rights

If you are based in the EU or EEA, you have the following rights under GDPR: access, correct, erase, restrict, object to processing, and receive your data in a portable format.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days. No forms, no dark patterns. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority if you believe we have not handled your data correctly.

Subprocessors

We use a small set of infrastructure providers to operate this site and deliver email. A current list is available on request.
